Come enjoy a side of Summit County you haven't seen yet. View the majestic Ten-Mile Range and Buffalo Mountain from the beautiful reflective waters of Lake Dillon. Schedule your tour for approximately two hours before sunset, and watch the sun flame down into Alpenglow.

Bring your own picnic supper and favorite beverages, if you like. A cooler of ice and bottled water is provided free of charge. No glass, please. Plastic glasses and containers are available. If you like you can arrange to pickup box lunches at the Tiki Bar (970-262-6309) at the Dillon Marina.

Tours begin nightly after 5:30 p.m., depending on when the sun is setting. Departure is from C Dock, #27, at the Dillon Marina, North America's highest marina at 9,017 feet above sea level. There is plenty of free parking available in the marinas upper lots.Tours take place on a 25-foot classic Cape Dory sloop named "Into Thin Air". The boat has a comfortable cockpit area and a small cabin.

Your Captain, Andrea Stein, is an American Sailing Association certified instructor, a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain, and a well-practiced spinner of sea yarns.

Activity Notes

  • All tours are 2 hours in duration and the cost is $50 per person.
  • If you are looking for a romantic tour for just the two of you - $300 ensures a private evening without fellow passengers.
  • Children must be at least 7 years of age.
  • Don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, warm clothing and a water resistant windbreaker. Mountain climate can range from intensely sunny and warm days to sudden cool evening temperatures. Most of all, don't forget a camera for some spectacular sunset photos!
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations 48 hours prior to tour time are subject to a 50% charge of total tour cost. Cancellations less than 48 hours prior to tour time will be charged the full amount.
