Experience a trial ride high on the slopes of Peak 9 overlooking the town of Breckenridge. These rides begin on the ski slopes above Beaver Run Resort and take you on the winding trails through the woods of the Arapaho National Forest. Glistening mountain streams flow down into high mountain pools alongside the trail, and sunlight sparkles through the trees as you climb towards Peak 9. As you approach timber-line you will emerge from the woods onto the open ski slopes with awesome mountain vistas, and the town laid-out below you. Baldy and Guyot Mountains stand high in the background and you can see the ski slopes of Keystone Resort's advanced terrain on North Peak and The Outback in the Pike National Forest. The Continental Divide is visible in the distance above the Keystone Resort. This is most definitely one where you do not want to forget your camera!!! The trails are narrow and your guides will lead you through the myriad of options that criss-cross the whole area. The stables have a wide selection of horses to suit all ages and abilities, so there is no need to leave Grandma behind! Small children (up to 40lbs) may ride double with a parent and are charged at half price.
Rides go out throughout the day starting at 8:00am and depart every hour (except noon), with the last ride going out at 4:00pm (12:00pm on Sunday's). All rides last about 90 minutes. All rides are weather dependent, so if there is a thunderstorm brewing in the afternoon then it is possible that a later ride may be canceled. (Rides may be rescheduled or refunded in that eventuality). |
